Zitat:In recent years France has opened a large can of death metal worms on our collective ass; a charge led by killer bands like Yrkoon and Bloody Sign. You can add one more to that growing roster, for the sophomore effort from Necroblaspheme is another outing of hook laden, memorable death metal that has a sound much its own.

The true quality of this band is there ability to deliver catchy yet simple death metal, without ever losing the edge of brutality. Opener "All in Vain All in Veins" is a monumental instrumental with use of samples and a thick bass drum which hypnotize the listener until "After All" cuts through you with grinding efficiency and excellent riffs. "Descents Genesis" alternates scorching riffs with a pensive, slower groove. "Sorry for Us" opens with a salvo of wonderful plodding chords. You'll also notice an ever present current of old school to their sound as in "Wounded" or the blasting "Nameless". Yet there is nothing retro about this band at all, they channel the quality roots of death metal into an artistic expression, and they slather it all in occasional echoes, samples and sound effects which give the album a transcendent vibe...sort of like that very interesting cover art, which ties in to the bands ink blotted 'presence'.

This is only my first exposure to Necroblaspheme, I haven't heard their debut. But the album sounds excellent, the musicianship is tight and reined in, and the songs just rule. A must have if you're into modern death metal that forsakes any and all wank/squeal/chug boredom for a well crafted experience.

Persönlicher Nachtrag:
Mal wieder hochwertiger Stoff aus dem Land der Froschmörder. Genreanhänger müssen reinhören. Einarbeitungszeit ist nicht gefordert, die Jungs kommen sofort zur Sache. Smile
