Zitat:
For someone that grew up with the glorious 80's, early 90's, classic melodic hard rock sound, when you hear the word Tyketto, one song comes in mind; "Forever Young"! The song that becomes a myth for every crazy hard rocker back then was the ticket for Tyketto to become huge!!! But 'cause of the so-called Grunge revolution Tyketto, and many others, did get the popularity that they deserve.

With a very charismatic front-man, as Danny Vaughn, and a solid sound, Tyketto released two superb gems of pure Hard Rock heaven. Tyketto made its comeback with "Dig In Deep" and nowadays they present us the brand new "Reach" album.

"Reach" and the new album kicks-off with this classic Tyketto song! Up-lifting with a feel good vibe in it "Reach" sounds the perfect opener of what's to follow next!! The groovy and heavier "Big Money" takes control next while in "Kick Like A Mule" the old flames of "Strength By Numbers" record are alive and kickin'! "I Need It Now" is yet another killer tune, with a huge chorus line, which is flavored with a strong late 80's vibe in it and it's among my favorites from the new effort.

"Tearing Down The Sky" is CLASSIC Tyketto and the sure thing is that will put a wide smile upon the face of every die-hard fan of the band. "Letting Go" is a more laid-back track with a beautiful melody and Vaughn's superb vocal lines. "Remember My Name", "Sparks Will Fly" and the tune that closes the new record, "The Run" are all three superb pieces of Tyketto in 2016!

Yes, Tyketto with "Reach" brings back their old sound back with more attitude and, of course, with a fresh and updated sound that will please both old and new fans. Spread the word; Tyketto is back! (Quelle: heavyparadise.blogspot.de)

Melodic Hard Rockers Tango Down are back with their fifth studio cut in “Bulletproof”. This time around some changes have taken place to the core of the band’s line up. Gone is super vocalist David Reece, who’s very well known in the Rock world, and to my surprise his exit, gives way to another excellent front man in the one and only Chas West former (Bonham, Lynch Mob, Foreigner). A guy who brings a soulful approach and strong core to his vocal approach. Good choice. Also to some who recall Chas took over Jake E Lee’s Red Dragon Cartel after their vocalist changes, and he did a great job.

The new album kick starts things nicely with a thumper of opening cut “Punching Bag”, attitude and tight riffs welcome the band back here, this little tune has a little of Thin Lizzy meets a modern Hard Rock edge full frontal, straight up with no excuses, good strong track to open things up.
Next top song hitting my taste buds just right, is the title song “Bulletproof”, an edgy riff provides the listener with a harder approach, but yet melodic so is clear you get what this band is really made of. Nice lyrics provided by the versatile Jason (Jace) Pawlak, a solid backbone to the Kivel Records family. With “Carry On”, I hear a bit of Billy Idol in it’s core, another twisted play with lyrics and the solid backbone of Scott Miller’s guitars, add a nice touch.
One of my favorites cut gets delivered via “When We We’re Young”, with a nice youthful retrospect as the root of the song, another nice chorus and bridge provide a strong lead to a great job on vox by Mr West, one of the top tunes on this one for sure. Quickfire lyrical delivery pick things up on the frenetic rhythm of “Superstar”, that only provides a crucial handshake to my favorite tune here in “Edge of Goodbye’, the chorus and bridge here are fantastic, the guitars and rhythm are sound and aspiring. This song resonates the easiest and leaves a rocking vibe long after you hear it, job well done. Before you know it, the total of 10 tracks are over and you really want to dig in and listen to it all over again.
I must say the production on this release is terrific, sounds is crisp and overall vibe I get from this record is one in which professionals musicians just come together and deliver very solid material. The transition from the vocal helm I can honestly say does not hurt the band, as Chas West is a very good vocalist, and here he does a great job with his mix of soulful vocals and gritty wails. More props to the cover artwork once more, perfect concept to go with the songs here. Overall this is another great release by a band that you should listen to, and know about; and if you haven’t shame on you. Good job Mr Kivel, well played sir.

Zitat:
Raptore is an Argentinean heavy metal band born in 2012. Two years later they released their first demo. Consisting of two songs, it was a precise attack packed with high energy and razor-sharp guitars, all lead by the high pitched vocals of Nico Cattoni (vocals/guitar). I've been following the band ever since.

Time has come, Rage N' Fever has finally arrived! Raptore's full length debut is great as expected. When you look at the artwork you instantly know what kind of stuff you are getting: high octane metal filled with rabid riffs and catchy choruses. Heavy metal as it should be, simple as that. I mean, what else can you think of when you see a car on flames jumping off a cliff, leaving behind a trail of burning tires?

Most songs are rooted in classic heavy metal with a fair share of catchy riffs and big hooks in the style of Scorpions/Accept. There are gang choruses thrown here and there, for example “Night on Fire’s” (that particular song was used as their first video clip). It isn’t hard to understand what kind of metal Raptore wants to practice. They wear their influences proudly on their sleeve while adding some of their own style in the process. The emphasis is put on the choruses and the vocal melodies, which are rooted also in classic 70s rock in the likes of Kiss and Bad Company. Raptore shines in the crushing mid tempo tracks “Time Has Come” and “Back in the Oven,” just like Accept, one of their biggest influences. The band feels comfortable and in total control when things slow down a bit. Wolf Hoffman’s school of riffing!

There is also room for those who like it fast. “Evil Hand” (one of my favorite tracks on the entire album) is probably their thrashiest song, with a noticeable Anthrax and Testament influence on the vocal melodies and the main riff. “Runner of Death” is another fast one, maybe closer to classic speed metal bands such as Exciter. While these are the most aggressive moments, Raptore’s underlying rock n roll vibe is still present in the lead guitar work. That’s a positive thing to me, they sound like a rock band showing us their take on speed metal. Finally there’s also a power ballad that showcases Raptore’s most dramatic side. To me, “The Flame” is a total success. It sounds as genuine and passionate as the other tracks on the album. It follows a very usual structure full of crescendos and arpeggios, but with such a conviction that you just can’t help but singing that chorus with all your lungs.

All in all, I think the band did a really fine job. I wish more bands in Argentina sounded like this. It may sound easy, but crafting sincere and energetic music is a tough task. I see a very promising future ahead, even more promising than their bright present. Get Rage n’ Fever at all cost!
