Die Platte kommt typisch finnisch rüber; was bei (Ex-)Bandmitgliedern von so illusteren Namen wie Insomnium und Mors Principium Est wohl auch kein Wunder ist.
Debütalbum einer Band, welche sich u.a. aus zwei Mitgliedern der Extremkombo Death Reality gebildet hat, welche hier wohl ihre etwas melodischere Seite austoben wollen.
Das Ergebnis klingt amtlich und kann mich überzeugen. Gekauft!
The songs of MSA Project are all inscribed in a common setting, a futuristic world where humanity has spread throughout space on millions of stars, all under the dominion of an immense galactic Empire, very powerful but also corrupted and despotic. Many other races were discovered through time, then conquered and subdued, now also governed by this Empire known as Istree.
In parallel to this oppressive present exist two fluctuating realities: Mythlania and Musania.
The former is an odd place inhabited by heroes of the past, a world where myths and legends of every culture and race can mix and mingle in freedom.
As for the latter, it harbors dreams, musings and desires... a haven for the hopes that all sentient beings may hold for times to come.
Though these three universes are markedly distinct, they are narrowly connected through the thoughts of all creatures capable of dreaming and remembering.
Then, one day, everything changed.
A failed scientific experiment breached a rip in the fabric of space and time, a leak which permitted things to flow through from one reality to another. This lead to a rift between good and evil (light rejecting darkness in Musania, while darkness devoured all light within Mythlania), the emergence of two lords ruling on two thrones, and a very strange and chaotic war in the Empire of Istree, now besieged by incomprehensible creatures and forces from unknown dimensions...
Paradoxically, that same experiment also sealed the breach, thus bringing an end to the mess, allowing the two thrones to merge and the war to end. But though the leak only lasted a brief moment, its effect on time turned it into a century-long conflict -- a distorted instant which happened in the blink of an eye.
One may see this as a tragedy, because of all the deaths it entailed, and how it affected generations of innocent families. And yet... in the end, it brought the tyranny of Istree to its knees and, finally, its people were free.
