Jeder, der mit Heavy Rock / Stoner Rock / Desert Rock was anfangen kann, sollte Kyuss kennen. Die Typen sind Legenden in der Szene und gelten als eine der Begründer des Stoner Rock. Die (fast schon sagenbehafteten) Generator Parties in der Wüste vor Palm Desert, CA waren der Geburtsort. Aus Kyuss sind nicht nur QOTSA hervorgegangen, sondern unzählige andere einflussreiche (Stoner Rock) Bands.

Members of Kyuss have gone on to form or play in several notable bands including Queens of the Stone Age, Fu Manchu, Dwarves, Brant Bjork, Eagles of Death Metal, Mondo Generator, Hermano, Unida, Slo Burn and Them Crooked Vultures.

1996 aufgelöst; ich hab mir nie gedacht, dass ich sie jemals live erleben darf, alle Anfragen, bezüglich einer Reunion, wurden stets abgelehnt:

Nun, Josh Homme ist bei der Tour nicht dabei, damit kann ich aber leben.

Scott Reeder also commented on a possible Kyuss reunion in early 2008, saying "I think everyone but Josh would do it in a heartbeat". Reeder also noted that he would "do it for free beer again".
