1) They take longer to distribute properly
2) They even take longer just to "get out there"
3) They demand more of our seeders
4) They delay us quite a bit, since there are limits to how many shows we can keep seeded
simultaneously
5) They are, quite simply, not popular enough in general
6) ...and for some shows, they simply aren't warranted
The fact of the matter is, the regular 350MB HDTV releases are *by FAR* the more popular release form
among our downloaders. Some of the 720p numbers are low enough that if they were the numbers we'd
get on 350MB eps, we wouldn't have done the shows at all.
So then we are left with the following conditions for whether or not we'll do the 720p version of a specific
show:
1) The show needs to be popular (and so does the 720p version of it)
2) The show needs to have visuals that justify the extra visual quality
It's an interesting equation, because either one of the two might be significant enough to nullify the
other requirement. Many scifi shows, for example, have visuals more than impressive enough to
warrant the 720p even without the popularity - and some shows are popular enough to warrant 720p's
without the normally required visual effects (24, for example)
