midway hat sich fuer teil acht ihrer pruegel-reihe mal was cooles einfallen lassen... so wird der offizielle titel von teil acht:

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe

lauten...

Midway hat heute bekanntgegeben, dass der neueste Teil der Serie auf den Namen Mortal Kombat vs. DC Comics hoeren wird. Demzufolge werden allem Anschein nach die Charaktere aus Mortal Kombat gegen Superhelden aus den DC Comics antreten, so kann also etwa Batman auf Sub-Zero treffen.

Schlechte Nachrichten gibt es allerdings fuer Fans der Serie. Geruechten zufolge sollen die Fatalities entfernt worden sein. Ausserdem wird man nur mehr dezent Blut sehen. Der Vorteil ist, dass man bei Release des Games eine deutlich niedrigere USK-Wertung erhaelt, wodurch das Spiel fuer die breite Masse verfuegbar sein wird.

Erscheinen soll der Titel fuer PC, Playstation 3 und die Xbox 360. Ein Releasetermin ist allerdings noch nicht in Aussicht.

Die paar Szenen aus dem Teaser sehen schonmal cool aus, aber auf mortalkombat.ch steht, dass die Brutalitaet wohl wie gewohnt ausfallen wird und dass es nicht Mortal Kombat 8 sein wird, sondern eher ne Art Spin-Off wie Shaolin Monks.

aber kleienr Tipp: wer das "Szenario" schon mal haben will, sllte sich mal den Mugen-Pruegler "Everything vs. Everything" (Freeware afaik) anschauen.........700 spielbare Charaktere ^^....theoretisch sind da auch Kaempfe wie Kirby vs. SubZERO etc. drin ^^

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is an upcoming scheduled crossover fighting game from Midway Games in the Mortal Kombat series, which will contain characters from both Mortal Kombat franchise and DC Comics universe. Storywise, it is expected to follow the events of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. Epic Games reports that the game is using their Unreal Engine 3 and is being developed for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.[1]

According to an interview with Ed Boon, many new fighters will be introduced, and only few "old" characters will return. An early artwork of the game revealed Sub-Zero and Batman.[2]

Most Gaming websites have released a video, showing Batman fighting Sub-Zero, with the promo render at the end. It is unclear on how much of the games violence will be retained due to the crossover, although a bit of blood can be seen when Sub-Zero punches Batman. No release date has been stated.

Controversy has arose over the announcement by Ed Boon that the game would be under a "T" Rating (Teen.) The lack of a Mature Rating has led to a backlash from the public in most part due to the absence of "Fatalities" which was one of the core components that set the Mortal Kombat series apart from other fighting games. Ed Boon has promised that they will utilize a finishing system similar to that of the Fatality system without pushing the rating over to Mature. [3]

Epic Games also lists Mortal Kombat "8" for PC; however, this claim has been confirmed by the MK production team to be false.
