This Chinese vehicle manufacturer is a state-owned corporation and was founded in 1997. Chery is a brand associated with many emerging markets and is found in South Africa, Egypt, Malaysia, Russia, Iran and the Philippines to name a few. One of the most well-known sports car makers in the world, 1947 is the date usually associated with the formation of the brand, although Enzo Ferrari had built his first car in the early 1940s under his own name. In its first year of production, it was front-wheel-drive. The first Citroën car - the Type A - was produced after the war, in 1919, with André Citroën employing many mass manufacturing techniques new to Europe. After the war, it went back into producing commercial vehicles. The Impala broke away from the Bel-Air line in 1959 and quickly became the standard of comfort in American vehicles. The SS aimed at "customers who like sports car flair and go, teamed with big car elegance." With a 409 and 4.56:1 axle ratio, an Impala SS could hit 60 mph in seven seconds.
