Zitat:The subject of this essay was to find out how Michael Moore uses sarcasm in his documentaries and what kind of effect it creates concerning his audience. While analyzing the scene I learned how the different levels of the documentary collude with one another and in how far the comment refers to the images of the sequences. When I watched the entire movie again after this report was finished, I looked at it from a completely different point of view and realized that almost every scene holds a complexity, in terms of comment interacting with images, like the one I analyzed. The sarcastic way of telling the audience about facts and situations also spreads throughout the entire documentary. I believe the level of comment to be the most important part of not only “Fahrenheit 9/11” but any other project of Michael Moore. It affects people, as we can conclude from my experiment, in individual ways and builds the foundation of Moore’s entire work. This foundation decides if whether a person likes the movie or not and is the reason for the filmmakers polarizing effect.
All in all, this essay was an interesting experience and made me realize, as I said before, how Michael Moore uses his sarcastic documentary style to create a controversial effect in order to make his work more interesting for both, his fans and his foes. His fans can identify themselves with his statements and his foes have to deal with his work in order to be able to publicly debate on it. Due to that, Moore created such a huge audience, what leads me to the conclusion that the filmmaker’s sarcastic way of exposing the “truth”, in the end is responsible for his huge success.
Wenn das nochmal schnell wer durchsehen koennte waer ich sehr dankbar, das Fazit und damit der letzte Eindruck sind bei solch langen Texten ja immer besonders wichtig
