Quake 4 Beta DEMO

wer noch nicht dazu gekommen ist Q4 mal anzutesten, hat jetzt die gelegenheit dazu:

A single-player mission and two multiplayer maps

Activision and id Software have released a playable demo of Quake IV, giving you the chance to try out the very popular sequel available in retail stores since this October. In Quake IV, you are Matthew Kane, an elite member of Rhino Squad and Earth's valiant invasion force. Fight alone, with your squad, and in hover tanks and mechanized walkers as you engage in a heroic mission into the heart of the Strogg war machine. But, in this epic war between worlds, the only way to defeat the Strogg is to become one of them. Battle through early missions as a deadly marine, then after your capture as a marine-turned-Strogg with enhanced abilities and the power to turn the tide of the war.
Update: Activision announced that the multiplayer portion of the demo doesn't work online at the moment. The final version of the demo will be released early next week.

Ihr wolltet euch gerade die Demo von Quake 4 saugen? Sorry, leider habt ihr Pech gehabt. ID Software und Activision haben die Testversion des kuerzlich veroeffentlichten Action-Shooters aus mehreren Gruenden zurueck gezogen.

Zum einen handelt es sich um die hierzulande indizierte US-Version, zum anderen ist die Demo instabil und der Multiplayer-Part fehlerhaft.

Sobald eine offizielle Demo veroeffentlicht wird, erfahrt ihr dies natuerlich auf DemoNews.de.

is die wirklich so instabil die version?

keine ahnung, habs nicht getestet... aber bei gamershell haben die das ganze jetzt in "Quake 4 Beta Demo" umbenannt.

bsiher loepppt die demo ohne probs bei mir. allerdings: vom spiel vorgeschlagene optimale system-einstellung: low quality bei 640*480px

naja, werds gleich mal raufschrauben, lief naemlich mehr als fluessig bei der einstellung (und sogar in annehmbarer optik!)

is bei der vollversion bei mir auch so, dass der low quality mit 680x480 vorschlaegt, es laeuft aber auch spielbar fluessig mit hoeheren settings

weiss man, was daran anders ist? ausser stabilitaet? (womit ich allerdings keine probleme hatte)

das ding wurde halt von id abgesegnet..die andre kam irgenwie auf angeblich ominoesen wege in die umlaufbahn...

also was da jetzt genau anders is weiss ich nich...
hab irgenwas von gelesen das bei der final der multiplayer part funzt...

funzt der bei der beta nich? (hab demo noch nich gezogen)

zumindest find ich keine server in der beta! dann werd ich vllt doch mal die final ausprobieren
