"We Own the Mountains" is already their third full length, for again a different label. In fact I would never expect Folter Records to release something from a band such as Elite. "We Own the Mountains" offers everything a trendy and commercial black metal album needs. First of all it's the production that gives the album a modern touch; sounding crystal clear and perfectly balanced. Then there's the music ranging from very melodic to epic to aggressive. This last remark is definitely related to the superb sounding harsh screams of Bent. "We Own the Mountains" is a good follow up for Elite's previous "Bifrost" release. The melancholic sounding "Amanita Muscaria" immediately sticks to your head, something which repeats with the epic "Rovnatt" with its sad clean vocals. Though the best song on the record must be the aggressive "Legend". Don't expect this release to be something new, the similarities with other bands, like Taake or Immortal (hence "Winter Moon King") are clear as fuck. But instead of whining about originality I would rather praise Elite for the grand quality they bring. "We Own the Mountains" is a very strong release.
