Auf der Suche nach dem (für mich) perfekten Audioplayer bin ich letztlich auf aTunes gestoßen. Der Player ist für mich ebenbürtig zu amarok für Linux.

* Support for CDParanoia on Mac OS X and Linux (limited functionality)

was mich immer davon abgehalten hat den zu testen, ist die Tatsache, dass er in Java programmiert ist.
Obwohl ich selber Java-Programmierer bin, hab ich GUIs in Java nie gemocht und wenn möglich gemieden.
Aber wenn er deine Bedürfnisse erfüllt, ist das ja legitim

ich bleib dann bei iTunes.

Java hat mich auch erst abgeschreckt, aber atunes läuft echt flott und sauber.

Bin zwar gerade erst von winamp auf foobar umgestiegen aber wenn ich amarok lese muss ich dem teil ne chance geben

so gerade installiert und bin schon begesitert. ein titel angewählt schon war das cover, playlist und lyrics da, genial! Genau sowas habe ich unter windows vermisst.
Ich glaube das gefummel in foobar spar ich mir jetzt zukünftig

übrigens gibts inzwischen/neuerdings auch ne Windowsversion von Amarok was ich bisher gelesen habe, soll die aber noch relativ buggy sein, aufgrund der Beta-Status

Kann der auch mit dem iPod umgehen?

wird ausprobiert, sieht interessant aus. allerdings bin ich unter linux von amarok schon länger nicht mehr begeistert, besser fand ich da exaile, auch wenn ich damit nicht richtig warm geworden bin. zur zeit nutze ich begeistert songbird 1.0 (die pre-1.0 versionen waren zugegebenermaßen totaler schrott) und bin bis auf ein paar kleine deteils auch äußerst zufrieden damit. mal schauen, ob atunes da mithalten kann! danke für den tipp

Is it possible to synchronize my iPod with aTunes?

Currently aTunes can only READ iPod contents until 4th generation. It has not been tested with later versions. It can't write songs to iPod. However, aTunes can write to many generic mp3 players acting as external hard drive (i.e. mass storage devices).

Super! Vielen Dank für den Tip, das Teil läuft echt geschmeidig!
Was ich aber noch nicht so ganz verstehe wie ich damit meine Playlisten verwalten kann, hat da einer ne Idee?

Edit: Das Durchsuchen der Bibliothek find ich leider sehr sehr unglücklich...Wieso kann man nur was suchen wenn man auf die Wurzel rechtsklickt oder oben in der Leiste Suche anwählt. Wenn man dann die Sucheingabe löscht verschwindet die Suchleiste wieder! Das Durchsuchen der aktuellen Wiedergabeliste ist leider auch nicht so toll...

@bolle: dann solltest du vllt mal songbird ausprobieren - dort ist die suche ziemlich gut gelöst.

Wenn das Teil auch iPods beschreiben kann und z.B. Amip funktioniert, dann werde ich es mir genauer anschauen. Bis dahin ist es für mich keine iTunes Alternative.
