Ja, ja, der Bruno...
Ist ja ein ganz umtriebiger Musiker, der werte Herr Masulli. So treibt er sein Unwesen neben den Engagements in den Metal-Kapellen Power Beyond und Savior From Anger nun auch in einem Projekt mit dem etwas sperrigen Namen Annihilationmancer. Um das werte Publikum auf den wohl in Kürze erscheinenden Longplayer The Involution Philosophy vorzubereiten, gibt es jetzt eine drei-Track-Promo-Single, auf der man sich mit der Musik dieses Projekts schon mal vertraut machen kann.
Wobei ich es bei einer drei Stücke umfassenden Promo schon gewagt finde, einen davon für ein Intro zu ver(sch)wenden. Allerdings ist diese Intro gar nicht so unsinnig, denn es bereitet den nichtsahnenden Hörer schon mal ganz dezent auf die gebotene Musik vor. Diese besteht dann aus recht progressiv angehauchtem Thrash Metal, verzwickt und gar nicht so einfach nachzuvollziehen, dafür aber mit einer musikalischen Halbwertszeit, die eindeutig über dem derzeit so gebräuchlichen Fast Food-Metal liegt. Die Musik der Italiener fordert den Hörer und dessen Aufmerksamkeit, weiß auf der anderen Seite aber auch, selbigen mit recht komplexen Arrangements zu belohnen. Den Begriff "recht komplex" muss man schon im Kontext des Thrash Metals sehen, reines, unzugängliches Gefrickel bekommt man dann doch nicht. Trotzdem eine recht ungewöhnliche Mischung, die gar nicht mal so schlecht klingt.
Tut sie übrigens auch technisch nicht, denn für eine selbstproduzierte Demo klingt der Rundling schon recht ordentlich. Rau, direkt und authentisch, so wie Thrash halt klingen soll. Und da es sich um eine Promo-Single handelt, will ich die Spieldauer mal nicht in die Wertung mit einbeziehen, es sind halt einfach zwei Songs zum Reinhören.
Keine leichte Kost, aber sehr interessant und vor allem: Die Promo macht wirklich neugierig auf den Longplayer. Klassenziel also erreicht...
