Zitat:Creating atmosphere for making music is a luxury that not everyone can be attributed. It's that simple. Because sound four or more instruments coupled with perfection requires, at least to an intent and a direct connection with that climate, a "live" what comes out of the amplifiers. Undoubtedly this is the case with The Ganja Daybreak, his fourth and last member of an excellent series consists of the same name The Ganja (2002) Smoking and Mira (2004) and Laydown (2005). Recorded and mastered Orange studies in Argentina, Daybreak sounds forceful and powerful, as emerged from the bowels of Rafael Astaburuaga (bass, vocals), Samuel Maquieira (guitar, vocals) and Aldo Benincasa (drums).
To run the boot disk you will enter a dimension that we do not leave until you leave the 13 tracks of sound. Cuts that move at the point of rock, reggae and dub it as the trio combined to deliver a clear message: the dimension Ganja "everything has a rhythm, cadence, slow speed and what is outside does not matter. As its name suggests, is a recreation of the contingency, an area in which only matters what is inside. Just listen and be carried away by the heavy and long riffs of the two guitars, rhythmic percussion and the bass enclosure. Here are cadences, sounds great with delay and reverb, to immerse yourself and understand the message delivered through these influences that are left appear on the plate and collecting, on the other hand, much of American grunge, the most pure rock of the 90s and of Jamaican heritage, giving a whole compendium delicate psychedelic tinge that runs throughout the disc.
We realized we had all these characteristics of the sound of The Ganja in their previous work and in their live (which are a strong point in this band) but with all these trends sound Daybreak was originally consolidated with a record of seven years to its credit. The Ganja have been presented countless times both in vivo and in toccata of local shows mass (Rock Al Parque Colombia and Latino Lives in Santiago). All this experience is seen in the lyrical voice of Maquieira, which has great moments on the disc as in 'Sonic redemption' theme of opening of the plate that has emerged as single, and'7 th day ', with a exciting vocal melody. The loyalty of the band prior to their sound and their roots are seen in 'Out from heaven' in which reference to the undeniable reggae is freely exposed in contrast to the more comfortable with hard, one of the guitars and rough to be slow fused with hypnotic vocals (also in charge of Astaburuaga) on topics such as' Smokin Louise 'and' Chillan.
A disc in English, full of power, melodic hits and recorded the best results in the consolidation of this combo Santiago, positioning itself as a leading rock bands in the national circuit. This is a gift, a breakthrough sound which we can access every day to break the routine and go in waves of psychedelia and expansion.

Zitat:On ”˜Depression Tank”™ DeadHead sounds very angry. They show us again their well known mixture of mid tempo parts and fast parts, and this time the fast parts are not only more present, they are also exceptionally fast. Especially drummer Hans Spijker did an enormous job in the studio, he plays like a real madman. During tracks such as ”˜Firegate”™, ”˜Pesticide”™ and ”˜Hateland”™ it almost sounds as if he is losing his arms and legs! And that”™s not everything. The riffs are very strong and the short but cutting solos fit in very well also. Add to this the sharp vocals from new singer and bass player Ralph de Boer and you can imagine that this album is finished off very well. DeadHead stayed loyal to their typical style and they even managed to reach new borders without losing their roots. Via ”˜Depression Tank”™ the band upgraded their own type of thrash metal and this is worth a big compliment. Producer Robert Slump and former shouter Tom van Dijk helped these four guys out in the Hooiland Studio in the city of Zwolle and because of this everything sounds powerful and strong. The songs are not drowning in a wall of sound and therefore they do have a certain catchy feeling and this is also worth a compliment.
Most of the time it is fast, combined with a mid tempo part every now and then, and I have to confess that I really like it this way. If a band is capable of playing this energetically and still writes songs that do not bore me at all, and if these songs even get better with every listening session (yes, this ”˜Depression Tank”™ needs a little time to grow on you) then I am the one who wants to give them a nice round of deserved applause.
Ersteindruck:
7 / 10 Punkten.
